It is with a heavy heart that we have learnt of the passing on of one of the ZIMFETP Alumni Dr Mandy Sibanda-Dhlamini. She passed away Saturday 13 April 2019 following a complication after having given birth to her third child. Very soft spoken and eloquent, Mandy was loved by many, both colleagues and friends. Born 24 May 1978, Mandy attended primary and secondary school at Dominicsn Convent in Bulawayo. After completing her first degree in Biochemistry, Mandy went back to school and got her second degree in dental surgery. She later on went for her masters and was part of the 2009-2010 MPH cohort and she was attached at the Organization for Public Health Interventions and Development (OPHID), then a pilot site for the MPH programme. She got married in 2010 and received support from her colleagues in the programme. At the time of her death, she was a part-time lecturer at the University of Zimbabwe in the dentistry department. She also was currently serving as Director, Oral Health in the Ministry of Health and Child Care. Our deepest condolences go out to the family in this sad time. She is survived by her husband Sifanele and three children.
